St Patrick Church, Siddakatte, organised a Bible-Oriented Catechism Programme on 6th September 2026, under the initiative of the Bible Commission, in collaboration with the Bible Proclamation Commission, Liturgy Commission and SCC Commission.
During the 8:00 a.m. Holy Mass, Rev. Dr. Rudolf Raj Pinto, OCD, shared valuable insights on the existence of God and His presence in the Sacred Liturgy. His reflections helped the faithful to understand the deeper biblical meaning and spiritual significance of the Holy Mass.
Following the Mass, an interactive question-and-answer session was conducted. The resource person clarified various questions related to the holiness of the Mass, biblical knowledge, Christian religious practices and liturgical celebrations. The session was informative, faith-enriching and beneficial to the parish community.
Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Elias D’Souza honoured the resource person. Mr. Sunil Siqueira, PPC Vice-President, welcomed the gathering. Mr. Praveen Crasta, Secretary, Mrs. Salma Fernandes, Coordinator of the 22 Commissions, and Mr. Praveen Cutinha, Secretary of the Bible Commission, were present.
The programme provided the faithful with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the Bible, Liturgy and Christian faith, strengthening their spiritual life and participation in the life of the Church.

On January 4, 2026, during the Solemnity of the Epiphany, the Diocese of Mangalore officially inaugurated 2026 as the “Year of Children”. Unveiled by Bishop Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha during the Diocesan Eucharistic Procession, the initiative is centred on the theme: “Amchim bhurgimballam, Devachya Razachim follam” — “Our children are the fruits of God’s Kingdom”
This year serves as a pastoral call to prioritize the holistic development of children under eighteen, focusing on their spiritual, human, and academic growth.
